Visiting Grandson in Baltimore

My wife and I recently became grandparents to newborn Baby Jack. We visited my son, his wife and their baby the past week. That is why I have not been as active with blogs lately. It was wonderful to see them and meet the baby. He is a very healthy baby.

Below is photo collage featuring baby Jack. My wife and I are in the photos too.

On Tuesday we visited Maryland Zoo. I have also included some animal photos.

My name is Thomas Wikman. I am a software/robotics engineer with a background in physics. I am currently retired. I took early retirement. I am a dog lover, and especially a Leonberger lover, a home brewer, craft beer enthusiast, I’m learning French, and I am an avid reader. I live in Dallas, Texas, but I am originally from Sweden. I am married to Claudia, and we have three children. I have two blogs. The first feature the crazy adventures of our Leonberger Le Bronco von der Löwenhöhle as well as information on Leonbergers. The second blog, superfactful, feature information and facts I think are very interesting. With this blog I would like to create a list of facts that are accepted as true among the experts of the field and yet disputed amongst the public or highly surprising. These facts are special and in lieu of a better word I call them super-facts.

  1. What a precious baby! I’m happy for you and your family, Thomas. Our Jack just turned 17 months old yesterday. We’re going to be with him when he turns one and a half. Every week he is learning something new.

  2. How exciting to have a new baby in the family. Congratulations to all. We visited Baltimore several times and enjoyed the harbor, zoo , Poe House and aquarium. If you get a chance I highly recommend the aquarium next time you visit, it’s incredible.

        1. I should say that we did discuss visiting the aquarium instead of the zoo, but Ashley, our daughter-in-law had called to check whether they accepted strollers and they didn’t. So when baby Jack is three years old and willing to walk we can do it.

  3. Congratulations on becoming a grandfather, Thomas! The photos look great, it’s nice to get to see everyone and I love the porch at your son’s place. Like you I have been off the blog for a while, but don’t have a newborn baby visit as one excuse. Just the old classic: “work, work, work”.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words and congrats Leighton. I agree they have a nice porch and a nice house. Work is certainly important. I am retired, well I took early retirement. I have another three years until 65. But it means I have more time, except for when I am travelling. I certainly would not be blogging like this if I was still working.
