The Best Community Newspaper In Texas

A little over a month ago I found out that an article about me, our late Leonberger Bronco and my book about him had been published in the September issue of the Preston Hollow People’s Magazine. It was a very nice surprise. Preston Hollow Peoples Magazine, which calls itself the best community magazine in Texas (I totally agree), is a monthly magazine with 47,000 online or print version subscribers. I can add that Preston Hollow is a large historic neighborhood in the northern part of Dallas with many famous residents including former President George W. Bush,  Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, previous Dallas Stars owner Tom Hicks, the late Presidential candidate Ross Perot and many others.

What I am posting about today is that I finally acquired a couple of print versions of the September issue of the Preston Hollow Peoples Magazine, so I am posting a few here. I am also including a link to the online article because it might be easier to read.

Front page of the September issue of Preston Hollow Peoples Magazine shows an article about Dallas Museum of Art.

My name is Thomas Wikman. I am a software/robotics engineer with a background in physics. I am currently retired. I took early retirement. I am a dog lover, and especially a Leonberger lover, a home brewer, craft beer enthusiast, I’m learning French, and I am an avid reader. I live in Dallas, Texas, but I am originally from Sweden. I am married to Claudia, and we have three children. I have two blogs. The first feature the crazy adventures of our Leonberger Le Bronco von der Löwenhöhle as well as information on Leonbergers. The second blog, superfactful, feature information and facts I think are very interesting. With this blog I would like to create a list of facts that are accepted as true among the experts of the field and yet disputed amongst the public or highly surprising. These facts are special and in lieu of a better word I call them super-facts.

      1. Good to hear!! Articles like that are wonderful because you can use quotes from it forever in promotional posts to encourage more sales. A beautiful article like that is always a win/win. Congratulations!! 💗

      1. Yes. And be sure to state where the quote is from to give them credit (name of reporter, name of paper) at the end of the quote. That kind of thing will sell books for you for years!! 💗

    1. Thank you so much Roberta. Yes I did not sign up for a subscription until after I found out and the September issue had already gone out. I special ordered though and they were nice enough to give it to me for free, but it took a while.

  1. How wonderful you got a hold of the print version. The illustration of Bronco having the hemsters in his mouth was funny but not funny for the hemsters. What was he thinking? I’m glad your wife performed CPR to save them.

    1. That’s a good question. He had sniffed out and found run away hamsters previously. In this case though, we don’t know. It is possible that they had escaped and that he found them and put them in his mouth. However, it is also possible that he took them straight out of their cage. Claudia did not see the beginning of this saga so we don’t know.

  2. Congrats on the article! We had hamsters too but not at the same time as when we had dogs. One hid behind the refrigerator and another hid in a coat closet. I’m so glad I found them alive!
