25 Photos of Leonbergers in Nature

In the past I’ve made a few posts featuring 25 photos of Leonbergers around a certain theme. This is one more of those posts. This time it is photos of Leonbergers in nature, whether it is in a park, in our yard, on top of a mountain, swimming in a lake, a forest, etc. The first half of the photos are of our Leonberger Bronco or Leonberger photos by a friend. The second half of the of the photos are shutter stock photos. Below are the previous 25 photos of Leonbergers posts.

My name is Thomas Wikman. I am a software/robotics engineer with a background in physics. I am currently retired. I took early retirement. I am a dog lover, and especially a Leonberger lover, a home brewer, craft beer enthusiast, I’m learning French, and I am an avid reader. I live in Dallas, Texas, but I am originally from Sweden. I am married to Claudia, and we have three children. I have two blogs. The first feature the crazy adventures of our Leonberger Le Bronco von der Löwenhöhle as well as information on Leonbergers. The second blog, superfactful, feature information and facts I think are very interesting. With this blog I would like to create a list of facts that are accepted as true among the experts of the field and yet disputed amongst the public or highly surprising. These facts are special and in lieu of a better word I call them super-facts.

  1. Wonderful photos, Thomas. Before finding your blog, I knew nothing of the Leonberger breed. Thank you for sharing as you do about this gentle giant. 😊

  2. Oh my goodness Thomas…. I loved LOVED the collection of photos… Now tell me, How does one dry the coat of a Leonberger who has been swimming LOL.. They looked great swimming and running through the water…
And HOW cute are they as pups….
Loved the photo shoot of them all at the beach and in their party hats..
Who could not fail to fall in love with any of them…

Many thanks for sharing such a beautiful collection Thomas ❤ 🙂 xx

    1. Thank you so much Sue for your very kind words. When you dry a Leonberger you first must back off 20 feet while he shakes himself or you’ll get just as wet as him. Then you take a towel and rub him all over. You should not take him for a long walk in the Texas heat afterwards because the wet fur makes layers of hair that act like a blanket making the heat worse as the fur dries. Take him home and let him finish drying in an air-conditioned place.

      1. Loved the ‘Stand back 20 feet ‘ lol…. Thank you Thomas…. I know I had a long haired cat who when she got wet outdoors, her fur would soon clump together if you didn’t carefully groom…. I can only imagine the amount of time you groom… 🙂 Thank you again Thomas.. Have a great rest of your day xx 🙂

    2. Yes you are right you have to groom/brush a lot but before you have a chance to do that, while it is still wet, you should not be out walking the dog in the Texas heat because the wet fur makes it worse, like a blanket, or a coat. Have a great rest of your day too.

  3. While I love the photos, I’m especially appreciative of you for teaching me about a breed I knew next to nothing about. Great job, Thomas! See you on the flip side.

  4. Great photos, Thomas. It’s nice to see Bronco enjoying the great outdoors. 🙂 The group shots cracked me up with all the hats. Lol. What good dogs to pose for the picture! And the “majestic Leonberger” is wonderful. Thanks for sharing the photos and the fun. Have a good time at the conference. 😀
