The focus of this blog is Leonbergers. However, sometimes I post about other things and today I am making a lighthearted post about an English idiom that I find interesting. An idiom that is not used in my native language Swedish. The idiom is “When all is said and done”, and it is used to introduce a conclusion, or the most important fact to remember in a specific situation.
The one minute youTube video below is in regard to a demon possessed toaster. This poor lady is in a truly horrifying and nightmarish situation. The question is. What is the most important fact to remember in this specific situation? By watching the video, you will find out.
Last week I was reading a blog post in which one of the characters ordered Voodoo Rangers IPAs using door dash. I asked the author, John Howell, if you really can order Voodoo Rangers using door dash. He reminded me that his story was a work of fiction. However, I wanted to try whether it was possible to do that, and John encouraged me to try. So, I ordered a 12 pack of Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA using door dash (which they picked up from a store here in Dallas called Tom Thumb). As it turned out, I got my Voodoo Rangers from door dash. So, when all is said and done, you can order Voodoo Rangers from door dash. Below are a few of photos.

Finally, a 3 minute of ABBA’s somewhat sad song “When all is said and done”. It is a reflection on the end of a relationship.

this is a fun phrase! I’m glad you ordered your beer! Glad it tasted good!

That toaster clip is very funny! And I didn’t know that VooDoo Ranger was real beer!! When all is said and done, this was an entertaining post. Thanks!

Ha ha thank you so much for your kind words Darlene. I should say there are multiple version of Voodo Ranger beer. Voodoo Ranger IPA, Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA, Voodoo Ranger Juice Force IPA. They are all very good. John Howell told me his favorite is Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA and that is my favorite too.

What a fun post! Satan lives in a toaster? 😆 And how convenient to have beer delivered right to your door. I’m glad you enjoyed it, Thomas. Did the lizard get a taste? 🍻

Ha ha yes I thought that video was funny, and I like the expression “When all is said and done”. I did not know you could have beer delivered right to your door either, and neither did John even though he put it in his story. The Lizard did not get a sip, but I’ve seen him around our house, unless there are several of them, so maybe one day he will.

Java Bean: “Ayyy, our Dada has had that New Belgium stuff! He says it is pretty good! He likes to buy variety packs usually though because apparently he has trouble making decisions …”

Thank you Java Bean. I think it is a good idea to buy variety packs. I have tasted several kinds of the Voodoo Rangers and I also have a pack of Voodoo Ranger Juice Force IPA.

As for the haunted toaster, I read sometime in the 70s in the National Inquirer (?) or some such periodical of trusted journalism that someone had a possessed toaster. I imagine it would be hard to get lightly done toast. And wouldn’t it make the kitchen smell like fire and brimstone?

Ha ha you are right. I would think a possessed toaster would bring all sorts of mischief and a smell of fire and brimstone. However, when all is said and done it makes good toast.

“When all is said and done, it makes good toast.” And it’s a wonderful fire hazard, but don’t let small details like that phase you. 🤣 I love my IPAs, Thomas. If you’re ever in Northern California, I insist on buying you one.

Ha ha, you are right, nothing matters more than it makes good toast. Burn down the house and get attacked by demons as long as you get good toast. Thank you so much Pete. That is so kind of you. California is famous for their IPAs, well for other things too, but Russian River is special. I’ve had Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger, but it was a few years ago. Very memorable.

“…It makes good toast.” Made me laugh out loud and spill my granola. Fortunately, I was mostly done with it. Thanks. I needed that.

Right. In her world, good toast is worth all the risks.

Yes that is right, and that surprising conclusion is what makes this video so great. Everyone, has their own priorities.

haha These are so fun. I’d heard the toaster one before but she was so matter of fact about it all. We used that phrase all the time, too. 🙂
