Rollo Go Look Out the Window

Rollo Go Look Out the Window – that is what we tell our mini-Australian Shepherd Rollo when we have to leave him home alone for a couple of hours. Whenever we say that he runs to the window and looks out the window. He isn’t happy about us leaving but he likes looking at all things that he can see through his window, and he barks at the things he sees.

But what does Rollo see? See the children’s story below. I should say that I will work on this story and try different kinds of images to go with it. For this attempt, the first and second photo in the story are taken with my cell phone. The photo of planet Earth is from pexels.com. All the other pictures in the story I generated with help of ChatGPT. The photos outside / after the story are all photos taken by me.

What does Rollo See out his Window ?

Rollo’s owners are usually with Rollo most of the time, but sometimes they have to leave him for a couple of hours. When that happens, Rollo is not happy.

However, Rollo’s Mama says, “Rollo go look out the Window” and Rollo runs to look out the window.

What does Rollo see? He sees the blue sky and the clouds; he sees birds flying and he sees the black crows walking on our lawn. He doesn’t like the black crows walking on his lawn, so he goes woof, woof, woof, woof.

Daisy and Rollo Looking Out the Window

Rollo grew up with two dogs, our big fluffy Leonberger dog Bronco and Daisy our Pug. Bronco sometimes stood and looked out the window, but Rollo and Daisy loved doing that together. They stood on the sofa and barked at everything they saw outside.

    1. Yes you are right and that makes it very difficult to leave them. The veterinarians recommend up to 3-4 hours for dogs his age but not any longer. Some dogs destroy furniture while you are gone but luckily Rollo just likes to look out the window. Sending light and blessings to you and yours as well. Thank you so much Susana.

  2. I like your story book with all the photos. It also would be fun for children to read or hear this story, and they would be encouraged to go look out their own windows and be aware of all the interesting things they could see, too. 🙂

  5. Lovely to see Rollo again on your pages, Thomas. You made a great storybook and that cat is absolutely gorgeous. You’ve also reminded me of how much I used to love chocolate Rolos. I haven’t had them in years and they don’t have them here in Serbia.

  9. What a cute story! I love how it encourages empathy for dogs being home alone, but they need to stay home and can’t go outside with supervision so they will be safe. It would make a great children’s book. The photos are wonderful! I wonder if you might want to have a page at the end about dogs and that they don’t see the same colors as people, but they can sense a lot more with their noses and ears. Or maybe I’m being too serious.

    1. Thank you so much for your very kind words JoAnna. Yes you are right. Sometimes you have to leave them for a short time but they have to stay at home for safety. The page about dogs not seeing the same colors as people sounds like a great idea.
